Last week, I revealed my goal for this week: to finish a draft of the piano-vocal score for the opera. In retrospect, that was overly optimistic given that the semester is coming to a close and things are very hectic.
I did make some progress filling in the accompaniment, but I’ve still got a decent bit left to do. Since this is a very busy time—and I’m about to head out to run a reading session where members of the Hartford Independent Chamber Orchestra will play through new works by Hartt Community Division composition students—this will be a very short update.
In fact, I’ll just leave you with a snipped that occurs just after the end of Marie’s rage aria:
Hopefully next week, I’ll be much closer to finishing the piano-vocal score and will have time to write a longer Composer’s Log!
